Pre-Lenten Mass – God’s Healing Love

February 8, 2024, Church of the Holy Spirit, Memphis, TN

I  am here to talk to you about Faith and Hope, about remembering to turn to God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with your spirit.

Remember when you were a small child and you went outside and fell down and immediately was scooped up by your mother and comforted?  Well, Our Lord is always present,  but He needs you to cry out for Him, to invite Him in for assurance or comfort. That sounds nice and easy, but what if the doctor says there’s no cure? Or the recovery will be long and arduous, or your tired of the pain, tired of trying?  What if emotionally you are continually tormented; you’re despairing and you know it.  Where is God then?  I am here to tell you,  He is still here and Miracles ARE Real!

I have many stories to share with you, but this one shakes me to the core.  My eldest son Jay, 9 years old, asked to go out and play with his friends. His friend an 11 yr old  lived six houses down the street. It had snowed the night before. I said yes and bundled him up. Off he went. Thirty minutes later, his friend knocked on the door and told me to come quickly, that Jay had been hit by a car. I told his friend to stay with my other 2 children

I remember running down the street, my sock feet were sticking to the ice. I ran back and got my car and literally slid down the street. I asked a bystander where he was. They had dragged him into a ladies house I did not know. They had placed him in a chair.  When he heard my voice, he began to moan my name. He said arduously, trying to find his words: “I can’t see”. He was barely breathing. I helped slide him to the floor and began CPR.  The lady called 911.  Since there was snow on the ground, the ambulance would be slow in coming. I thought instinctively: I’ll  continue CPR, treat for shock and somehow talk to the doctor on the phone from Le Bonheur.

I began to cry out in my spirit for the Blessed Mother, begging her for help.  I even bargained with her:  “Take me, please, but don’t take my son!”   I began to scream again in my spirit, asking the Holy Mother to come!  I was  a CPR instructor so the rhythm of the actions helped me to pray, I suppose. How did I do two things at once?  I really don’t know.  As a nurse, in my mind, I was used to asking the Holy Mother and Jesus for help; especially when my patients were critical. Not long after asking the Blessed Virgin to come, the house was filled with the smell of roses. The lady in the house kept saying, “Do you smell those roses. Where are the roses coming from?”

I knew!  The Holy Mother was there, even though I could not see her. Then several minutes later,  I started smelling incense; the finest smell ever. The lady in the house said, ”Do you smell that perfume?”  I simply gave her a node. The Holy Mother had come and Jesus too!  Is this for Real?

We were transported to Le Bonheur and Jay was admitted to ICU.  The driver had run over Jay and then pulled back over him, as his friend banged on the window. His head was swollen 3 times its size, his eyes full of blood, ribs broken , wrist broken and hanging, heart crushed. The doctor told me he was badly hurt and might not survive.  But if he did, he would be badly brain damaged.

I called a priest for anointing and finally the worst words.  Near midnight, the doc said,: “He is hanging on by a thread”. I kept vigil in the waiting room and visited when allowed. He survived without any brain damage, although it took 2 weeks for blood to recede. Other injuries were fixable.  I remember going from begging to praising God ( back and forth).  We had a six week stay in the hospital, but he would survive, with no brain damage.  This was  “music to my ears”!

There are many aspects to this story and sub-stories, if you will, but the message is clear.  Jesus and Mary are real; just like the Eucharist is Real. The heart surgeon told me he had prepared to do heart surgery and that Jay should not have survived. “Lady, you just received a miracle!”   Indeed, we did!  Clearly, God is as close to us as we allow Him to be. My friend, call it “Heart on Heart”.  Ok, nice story!

But what about those who suffer and don’t receive a healing?  No matter what, don’t lose Hope. If you are suffering, ask God to use that suffering for another’s soul.  Make suffering useful, rather than just painful, despairing and hopeless.  Don’t “walk” yourself from God, but toward Him. Hope is always there, if you seek it.

Even if things are so bad you don’t believe in the Lord anymore, ask God to help you to believe!  Ask for hope, to

trust God.  Ask for faith when you are at your lowest moments.   Ask directly for Jesus and Mary in your heart, your mind, and yes, your soul!  Thank you for this opportunity to speak!  I will close with these words!

As Bishop Steib would say:  “God is Good, all the time” and, “All the Time, God is Good”!    Expect a Miracle

Ticiane’s Testimony

Ticiane’s Testimony

Given at the Healing Mass – October 26, 2023

My name is Ticiane, I am Brazilian and I came to give the testimony of my daughter Giulia. We are a family of five. Me, my husband Raphael, and our children Pedro, João Paulo and Giulia.

The total conversion of my family took place in a mass for healing which we come to know the Holy Spirit of God.

We were going through many financial difficulties and difficult times that were causing us to lose faith.

On the evening of February 3, 2019, we went to Holy Mass and I said to God: “I can lose everything but faith. Please God renew our faith.”

The next day, my daughter Giulia became ill with bronchitis with the worst virus, respiratory syncytial virus. She had to stay on oxygen and undergo physiotherapy with aspiration six times a day.

She was hospitalized and her condition worsened every day. I asked God for healing. My husband went to Holy Mass on the sixth day of her hospitalization and took a garment of hers, placed it before the Blessed Sacrament, and cried out to Jesus for healing.

Giulia would have to go the next day to the ICU where she would go from 6 aspirations to 10.

Her condition was very critical. When my husband put on her the clothes he took to church, the first miracle happened.
Instantly, she was healed, surprising everyone, leaving in that instant the oxygen and the aspirations. The doctor said she didn’t understand. And I said “I understand”! Two days later, we went home. On that day she turned 10 months old. Faced with that situation, I made a covenant with God. From that day on, my whole family would go to Mass every Sunday and
every Tuesday which was the day of the Masses for healing.

Around the time she turned two years old in April 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, Giulia was hospitalized again with a disease called autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Her red blood cells had dropped, significantly putting her life at risk. Which should greatly lower her oxygenation and be intubated. She was rushed to the ICU and needed a blood transfusion, which if not successful, could lead to her death.

At that moment I turned again to God. When we entered the ICU bed, we felt the presence of the Blessed Virgin carrying us in her arms and covering us with her sacred and protective mantle, who remained with us for 9 days of hospitalization.

Giulia has an inexplicable love for Our Lady.

Faced with that situation, I made a new covenant with God. That I would be totally His by the hands of Our Lady through total consecration to the Blessed Virgin. I cried out for healing.

Amazingly, her oxygenation remained 100% the entire time. Her heart worked hard for it. During the Covid pandemic, the churches were closed, but the priests we knew celebrated Mass for her while we worshipped and friends and family interceded for her.

The second miracle happened.
Giulia had a significant improvement and was discharged. The doctors told us. “We don’t know which God you serve, but we do know that HE is powerful”. I answered, “Yes, we serve the one God, the God of miracles.”

We left the hospital happy and thankful with another miracle. My husband and I did our part as well. We made the consecration.

In the year 2022 we moved to Memphis, TN. Our kids got the COVID vaccine. Giulia had a reaction and triggered ITP Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.

Giulia was hospitalized with zero platelets. Thus causing the risk of internal and external bleeding.

Again the Blessed Virgin stayed with us during the three days of internment. She was discharged at just 8,000. The normal would be a minimum of 150,000 platelets. The risks of something serious happening remained there.

We bent our knees again. Fasting and prayer of many people were offered to God asking for her healing. There was a healing mass at the Church of the HOLY SPIRIT on August 12, 2023 and we went.

At Mass, she was anointed with the holy oil. At the end of the celebration, the priest and intercessors prayed for her and for her parents as well. The third miracle happened. Before the Mass the platelets rose slowly; after the Holy Mass they rose significantly and my daughter was completely healed, being fully discharged from St Jude’s Hospital in the latter part of August 2023.

Giulia still has Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, many tests have been done to identify the cause or how to cure it. But they found nothing. She does not use any medication.

I know that she is being cared for by Our Lord and Our Lady.

Medicine can’t explain my daughter’s life. And I give her life to God every day, and I know that He cares for and protects her from all evil. We just have to thank Our wonderful God, the Virgin Mary, family and all angel friends who intercede for her and for us.

Believe and trust in the living Jesus through the Holy Eucharist because He is the same Jesus of 2023. He is present body, blood, soul and divinity in every Eucharist.

Adore him, confess him, pray the rosary, participate in Holy Mass, love Him with all your heart and help Him be loved by all. To Jesus be all honor, glory, and praise forever.

Love and thank you very much
Ticiane

“What an awesome healing service!!! I have never before felt the power of the Holy Spirit so strong in a Catholic service.  This is what Mass, and the celebration of the Eucharist should be like — Experiencing the Presence of God and entering into this celebration with your whole being without reserve.
Awesome job–well done  Memphis disciples of the Lord!!”  Elizabeth Thomas from Ark.
